Responsibilities
Wood is currently looking for Wellwork Field/Rig Supervisor to support our team in Ira/Basra for 5×5 weeks
Fulfill requirements of the Wellwork Field/Rig supervisor as noted in the attached Detailed Job Description
Assigned to West Qurna 1 Project for 6 – 12 months
Written / SpokenEnglish proficiency is a must
Additional training to build clear English communication skills may be required
Demonstrate a track record of actively mentoring local staff and contractors
Demonstrate ability to effectively engage, influence, and gain the confidence of WQ1 FOD leadership & team members to achieve WQ1 partnership objectives.
Actively participate in field and office-based activities to direct multiple ongoing activities.
Demonstrate ability for higher level, strategic thinking and planning to achieve lead contractor’s goals and objective
Demonstrate a strong commitment to the ongoing WQ1 FOD SSHE culture
Demonstrate experience in managing multiple simultaneous workover units / activities.
Demonstrate experience in managing rig less activities including slick line, well testing, coil tubing interventions, stimulation in a fast-paced SIMOPS environment.
Demonstrate a committed approach to process improvement, efficiency gains and a reduction in Non-Productive Time.
Experience with workover rigs
Experienced with all forms of completions (vertical and horizontal)
Experienced in all forms of artificial lift including ESP, PCP and Jet Pumping.
Experienced in workover, completions and well head works (maintenance and repair).
Passed a fit to work medical
Provides operational/Safety expertise and day-to-day supervision activities necessary to assure wellwork/workover programs are carried out in a safe and cost-effective manner and in accordance with the approved work program.
Must be capable and willing to lead and mentor the BOC secondees to achieve industry/company standards as a minimum.
Ensures rig/rigless site SSHE plans are established, implemented and monitored incorporating industry and contractor standard safety requirements.
Provides operational/Safety expertise and day-to-day supervision activities necessary to assure wellwork/workover programs are carried out in a safe and cost-effective manner and in accordance with the approved work program.
Must be capable and willing to lead and mentor the BOC secondees to achieve industry/company standards as a minimum.
Ensures rig/rigless site SSHE plans are established, implemented and monitored incorporating industry and contractor standard safety requirements.
Coordinates additional risk assessment(s) if new scenarios and/or significant changes occur. Confirms proper documentation and timely close out if any findings.
Ensures risks associated with changes to approved plans, procedures and standards are understood and approved mitigations are in place.
Ensures planned emergency response drills are conducted and learnings evaluated and shared.
Implements programs for personnel, facility and information security.
Ensures the correct up to date documentation pertaining to the planned operations is available both at the work site and with the appropriate contractor(s) as required
Ensures that the personnel selected for the well work / workover positions have the required experience, knowledge, training and other skills.
Proposes and sources additional training that may be required for well work personnel.
Ensures periodic training requirements are met (e.g. well control, etc.) and an active register of all staff is maintained to ensure compliance.
Implements and fosters mentoring programs.
Prepares and reviews the performance of well work / workover field supervisors. Actively participates in career guidance, counseling and coaching as required.
Establishes well work / workover priorities, and oversees the work plans and schedules to ensure that personnel, equipment, supplies, and services are available well work / workover when needed.
Ensures significant changes in plans, procedures equipment, or personnel in key positions receive adequate review and approval.
Maintain documentation of completed job handover forms, ensuring a smooth transition between departments to minimize production losses.
Ensures well work / workover procedures are appropriate, understood, and followed by all employees, contractors and other third parties.
Oversees compliance with company procedures and programs, SIMOPS and SSHE procedures.
Ensures contractor has appropriate operations and maintenance programs in place and there are implemented for their equipment supplied.
Ensures contractor has appropriate critical spares and preventative maintenance programs in place to minimize any potential down time.
Ensure contractor has appropriate certification in place as per industry and company standards.
Administers systematic evaluation of third-party suppliers. Confirms that they are aware of and properly handle the hazards associated with their work; and, that their activities are monitored and feedback is provided to enable improvement.
Provides feedback to contractors on their performance relative to contract requirements through regular written and verbal feedback reviews.
Ensures significant changes in plans, procedures equipment, or personnel in key positions receive adequate review and approval.
Maintain documentation of completed job handover forms and ensure all relevant parties are aware of the completion of work.
Qualifications
Minimum of 15 years’ experience required in workover / rig / rigless operations. (well work) at a supervisor or higher level.
Must have very good English communication skills; written, oral and comprehension.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills, adaptable and willing to work in a multi-national / cultural environment.

Level 4 IADC well control (surface stack) Supervisor level (valid for at least 12 months).
